Breast radiation therapy is the course of treatment that women with breast cancer must follow. Therapy reduces local recurrence and tumor recurrence.<\/p>\n

Radiation therapy radiation is very strong and high-energy with the intent to destroy or slow down cancer cells while not causing damage to healthy tissue.<\/p>\n

In the case of breast cancer, radiation therapy is more common. This is because it is carried out with the intention of eliminating any postoperative cancer cells. The duration of therapy varies in each case according to the area to be treated and the state of tumor advancement.<\/p>\n

How breast radiotherapy works:<\/h2>\n

In most cases, radiotherapy treatment takes place in 5-7 weeks. The sessions have a daily frequency from Monday to Friday with rest on the weekend to allow healthy cells to regenerate.<\/p>\n

In any case, the scheduling of breast cancer radiation therapy sessions should be defined by the oncologist and shared with the patient. After identifying the most appropriate strategy, the patient will begin the sessions.<\/p>\n

Side effects of breast radiation therapy<\/h2>\n

Breast radiation therapy<\/strong> has different side effects that vary on a case-by-case basis. The most common include redness and oozing of the skin, nausea, and fatigue.<\/p>\n

These are short-term side effects of radiation therapy, which tend to disappear gradually after the end of cancer treatment.<\/p>\n

In these cases, it is advisable to take great care of the skin in the area treated by the therapies. You can, for example, use the Oncos emollient body cream<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n
